How to FLY!

How to FLY!

Oh so you BIG serious about flying huh?!

I get it sis! I was DEAD SERIOUS about becoming a Flight Attendant after I graduated college as well.

“How’d you start flying Brittney”?, this is probably one of the most asked questions I receive. Short answer, APPLY, APPLY, APPLY!  Even if your rejected from every airline, apply again! Let’s breakdown how this application works (for most American companies).

So, you've applied online for a new hire flight attendant, now what?

Usually what comes next is an invitation for an online video interview. From my own experience I’ve interviewed with *clears throat*

-SkyWest Airlines

-American Airlines

-Southwest Airlines

-Delta Airlines

*dramatic breath*

-United Airlines

-Virgin America

-JetBlue

Now, I have not made it to the video interview for all these airlines. Most, I received the ol’ “I’m good love, thanks” email back. However for about 4 of these, I did a video interview.

The video interview consisted of about 6-10 questions. Some more complex than others. The interview was with a digital character. A question would be asked by the character, and then the interviewee would have about 30 seconds to 1 minute to brainstorm and then respond while being recorded.

So, quick review…

✔ We've applied online for multiple airlines

✔ We've received & completed our online interview

𝥁 We’ve now received our invitation for an in person interview

So this is where things begin to differ between a lot of airlines. Some in person interviews start off in groups with other interviewee’s, while others are strictly one-on-one’s with the hiring manager.

Best bet, in my opinion, would be to google search the particular airline and how they're interview process works.

After the hiring process, were in training for 30-60 days (depending on the airline). After that we’ve got our wings! The training process is such an extensive subject that I want to answer the questions that I receive the most. You can find all the answers about what to expect when flying if you click here!
